The story of vintage heels
The heel shapes we know today took form in the early 20th century. Edwardian lace-up shoes of the 1900s had a curved pompadour heel. In the 1920s, shorter skirts put shoes on display, and Mary Jane and T-strap heels became the shoes of the dance halls. The 1930s brought elegant oxford heels for everyday wear and Art Deco evening sandals, while the 1940s added peep toes, rosettes and sturdy heels for women at work. In the 1950s, the sleek court shoe became the classic pump.
Each style in our collection is based on a specific decade. We have kept the details true to the period, from the shape of the toe and the cut of the straps to the height and curve of the heel.
Every pair is made from full-grain leather or suede in small production runs.
Many styles have discreet silicone inserts under the insole, so you can wear them all day, whether you are dancing, working or out for the evening. Several styles also come in wide fit.
