A classic 1940s-inspired Derby shoe with a timeless look

This shoe is inspired by everyday styles from the 1940s. It features an almond-shaped toe, white stitching on the welt, and beautifully handcrafted tassels on the shoelaces. The low heel offers comfort and stability, making it ideal for daily wear. The shoe is made from exceptionally soft full-grain leather.

The leather outsole provides flexibility and breathability, and the shoe is fastened with cotton laces.

Soft silicone under the leather insole enhances comfort, making the shoes very comfortable to wear.

The shoes are handcrafted.

I purchased these shoes specifically for dancing. The high energy, high impact needed for Lindy Hop steered me in the direction of a low, leather soled shoe with a generous toe box so as to avoid the nerves between my toes from being pinched. Not only do the Memery Derby shoes fit my dancing needs, they also fit exceptionally well to the vintage/repro 40's clothing I wear while dancing. Dance legends, for example Norma Miller, are seen in early movies and photos dancing Lindy in low, supportive shoes. I am in between sizes, so I chose the larger size to accommodate my personalized insoles.

1940's Derby Shoe - Billie

Beautiful shoe! Very well-made. They will look great with jeans or dress pants. The fit for me is a tad large in the heel, but I have narrow heels to begin with. A heel insert works great.

Beautiful shoes with thick leather

The shoes are so beautiful and the fit is wonderfull!
The leather ist really thick, which is why I spent a lot of time softing up where the back hit my heel. The leather is soft there now (& my heels have healt) so I am really really happy with them now! I am sure that these shoes ard going to last me a long time :)

As you say, they're made fo leather, so in time they will soften up and expand a bit, and then you'll have the most comfortable shoes molded to your feet. Elegant but cute

Great Shoe, i love how they look with skirt or trouser. They fit quite well and are so far comfortable. Sadly they are a bit slipery, but i love them nevertheless

Our shoes are made with leather soles, just like the originals back then. Once you've worn them on the pavement, they should be less slippery, or you can treat them with leather care, to make them less slippery. I also know some of our customers take them to a cobbler and have a rubber sole added.

Attractive and comfortable

This is my third pair of Memery shoes. I am a musician, and I need to wear all black when I am on stage. These are comfortable enough that I know I will be fine on my feet for the whole show. The subtle details add interest when seen up close, but they are appropriate when I am standing with the full chorus. These are just what I was looking for in a concert shoe, but I am also enjoying them for regular daytime wear.

Billie shoe. Fairly comfortable walking shoe. Beautifully made. Leather is stiff. Would be much better with a soft, buttery, pliable outer and inner liner. Will take a lot of walking to soften these up.
