On a beautiful Saturday in May, Vintage Divine, my beloved vintage boutique in Aarhus, Denmark, came alive with timeless style and the charm of decades past. We hosted a magical vintage fashion show, celebrating women’s fashion from the early 1900s through the 1960s — a journey through time told through authentic garments and vintage accessories.

People arrived and started finding their seats for the fashion show.
The show took place in the sun-drenched backyard of the shop, creating the perfect backdrop for this special event. It was a celebration of true vintage fashion, storytelling through clothing and accessories that have stood the test of time. Every piece featured on the runway was an original vintage item, carefully curated from my personal collection — which includes everything from everyday wear to elegant formal dresses, structured jackets, swimwear, lingerie, costume jewelry, vintage handbags, and classic hats.

It was lovely to see so many people gathered in the backyard of my shop for the fashion show - both new and familiar faces!
All the outfits were of course paired with my vintage style memery shoes, perfectly paired to show the style of shoes for each decade. From sleek 1920s french heeled Mary Janes to 1950s stilettos, every pair was chosen to perfectly complement the era and outfit. These handcrafted beauties aren’t just footwear — they’re wearable pieces of history, and they added the perfect finishing touch to each look.

The models outside my shop, right before the show began, making the final adjustments.
The models for the event were all local women who kindly volunteered to step into the role of vintage muses for the day. Their enthusiasm and elegance brought each outfit to life, and I couldn’t be more grateful for their support. We were also fortunate to have a talented volunteer photographer capturing the magic, Tami Meijburg — and the photos turned out stunning.

Setting up the table with sparkeling wine before the show. The weather was lovely and warm, perfect for a refreshment.
The event was free to attend, and we welcomed our guests with a glass of sparkling wine to enjoy during the show. It was a warm, sunny day, filled with laughter, music, and the joy of shared nostalgia. After the show, the models and I raised a glass to toast the success of the day, then headed out for a celebratory evening.

Cheering after a succesful show!
1910s: Edwardian Elegance and the Dawn of Modern Fashion
We started out the fashion by showcasing the beautiful 1900-1910s fashion, and Anne modelled the fascinating era of transition beautifully. Fashion began to move away from the corsetry of the Victorian period and started embracing softer silhouettes, flowing fabrics, and elegant tailoring.

Anne is wearing an every day outfit from the early 1900s with a green woolen jacket, long brown skirt, a black straw hat and a parasol. On her feet she's wearing my black Victoria boots a classic early Edwardian boot with a block heel and lacing.

Here Anne is wearing a set from the 1910's. Notice the looser fit and flowy garments, along with the crochet bag. The shoes are our Yvonne shoes, a classic Mary Jane pump with a french heel.
1920s: The Rise of Elegance and Rebellion
The Roaring Twenties were all about liberation — fashion followed suit. Our 1920s looks, modelled by beautiful Kristina, featured drop-waist flapper dresses, delicate beading, cloche hats, and french heeled Mary Janes, that captured the spirit of jazz-age glamour.
Kristina in a fine day dress with a dropped waist, cloche hat and of course my 1920's inspired Mary Jane pumps, Yvonne in black with a french heel, typical for the 1920s.
A classic 1920s flapper dress, with beautiful beading and a feathered head band, Kristina is ready to party in true Gatsby style.
This beautiful overlay blouse from the 1920's made of small ribbons placed together in a harmonious, art deco pattern is one of my favorites in my collection.
1930s: Grace and Glamour in Hard Times
The 1930s were more refined — bias-cut dresses, soft florals, and elegant silhouettes defined the era. Siri walked gracefully in classic golden leather heels and oxford pumps showing the understated sophistication of Depression-era style.
Siri is wearing a classic, brown 1930's dress, with a huge dotted bow in the front, a wide brimmed hat typical for the 1930s and on her feet is Marie, my 1930's style Oxford pumps.

The 1930s was a time for leisure and sports wear and Siri is wearing a gymnastics suit from the local Aarhus team AGF from the 1930s. Paired with a pair of practical, yet stylish, wedge sandals, Sidse.
1940s: Utility and Strength
The wartime 1940s brought practical fashion to the forefront — structured suits, shoulder pads, and sturdy leather lace-up shoes or oxfords. Astrid showcased an everyday outfit with large shoulder pads, imitating the military uniforms and a creative 1940s hat. She also modelled a ballgown made from parachute fabric along with a beautiful New Look suit, created by Christina Dior in 1947.
The silhouette of this jacket is a perfect example of 1940s fashion with an A-line shape and broad shoulders, along with seamed stockings and a pair of my 1940s inspired Alma pump on her feet.
Due to rationing on fabric, people used parachutes found on the fields from escaped soldiers to make gowns. This red dress is made from a parachute in the 1940s and is paired with a fur cape, enhancing the shoulders and 1940s inspired shoes, my gold peep toe, Susan.
In 1947 Christian Dior designed the "New Look" - a much needed opposite to the war years with rationing. This skirt suit is inspired but the New Look shape, with detailed beading and paired with my Esther pump, a classic 1940s style pump.
1950s: Femininity Reimagined
The 1950s were all about glamour and curves which Christinna showed so well. Full circle skirts, nipped waists, and vibrant colors filled our runway. Paired with stilettos, peep-toes, saddle shoes and dainty gloves, these looks were feminine and joyful.

Gloves, half hats and chic purses were the perfect accessories for a 1950's evening look.
Christinna also modelled a classic 1950s swimsuit with a marvelous straw hat.
1960s: Mod Style and Bold Statements
Fashion in the 1960s broke the mold — which suited Stinna so well. From elegant Jackie O-style dresses to bold space age dresses and short hemlines. We showcased the styles, tied together with sleek leather Mary Janes and metallic pumps that reflected the shift in attitude.

A Pierre Cardin space age mod dress also made the runway.
A Show-Stopping Finale: The 1950s Vintage Lace Wedding Dress
To close the show with elegance and a touch of romance, we showed this original 1950s knee-length lace wedding dress — a dreamy piece that captured the essence of mid-century bridal style. With delicate floral lace, a fitted bodice, and a full skirt that danced with every step, it was truly a show-stopper. Paired with an original vintage veil and my gold Marlene evening sandals, offering the perfect inspiration for any bride-to-be looking for something timeless, elegant, and one-of-a-kind.

This unforgettable afternoon proved once again that vintage fashion, especially when paired with classic leather shoes, still holds power and grace today. It was a day full of sunshine, smiling faces, and vintage treasures brought back to life.
We're already dreaming about next year’s show, and we hope you’ll join us to relive the glamour once more.
